Lieutenant Peter Morales (Ricardo Montalban) takes charge after a human skeleton appears on a Cape Cod beach, with no clues to identify the victim. Harvard forensic specialist Dr. McAdoo (Bruce Bennett) helps reconstruct the woman's identity through bone analysis and photographic methods. The investigation leads Morales toward Vivian Heldon (Jan Sterling), a missing woman connected to several suspicious figures and unanswered questions. As the police close in, hidden relationships, false accusations, and dangerous secrets push the case toward a final pursuit.
